Our Community
Family histories, living traditions, and community life in America
The United Tamang Community of America was established to serve Tamang families settled across North American cities through mutual assistance. Our work begins with the people who gather, share, and keep their traditions present here in Harrisburg and beyond.
Purpose
Built on mutual care and shared memory
UTCA exists to strengthen connection among Tamang families and to preserve stories and culture with care. Every gathering, archive entry, and financial report is guided by transparency and respect for the people involved.
Since our founding, we have grown from informal family meetings into an organized community with working committees, elder guidance, and a growing archive of Tamang language, music, dance, food, and festivals.

Leadership
Organized around transparency and shared responsibility
UTCA is guided by community elders, an executive board, active working committees, and youth engagement.
Elders
Community elders
Elders offer guidance on cultural practice, language, and the careful handling of family stories and memory.
Executive board
Executive board
Elected representatives coordinate operations, report on finances, and serve as the direct point of contact for members and partners.
Committees
Working committees and youth
Active committees manage events, archives, and volunteering, while youth members bring new energy and skills to the community.
Contact leadership
Reach our executive representatives
Members and prospective partners can reach UTCA’s executive representatives directly through our verified contact channel. Share your question about community life, archives, or partnership.
