Tools for keeping family memory alive
UTCA uses digital archiving, audio preservation, and translation technology to protect Tamang family records, recordings, and cultural materials for the community.
Digital archive
Careful digitization for fragile materials
Family documents, photographs, and audio recordings are scanned and catalogued with attention to condition and context. Each item is logged with its origin and the permissions that govern how it may be shared.
Audio recordings are digitized at preservation quality and transcribed where speakers and families consent. Linguistic notes preserve Tamang terms in the words used by the people who shared them.

Language roadmap
English first, then Tamang and Nepali
The archive launches in English, with Tamang and Nepali pages added as linguistic reviews are completed and checked by community readers.
Phase one
English launch
Core archive pages, event listings, and cultural records open in English for families and new learners.
Phase two
Nepali pages
Nepali translations follow once reviewers confirm terminology and meaning across each section.
Phase three
Tamang-language pages
Tamang-language versions are added as community reviewers complete their work, keeping local phrasing at the center.
